Dear friends and colleagues!
We inform that 03-04 August 2015 took place an expert visit the advocacy specialist NGO “Gay-alliance” Anatoly Nishtuk to Sumy. Among the many issues on which was provided technical support the Regional Coordinator “Gay-alliance” in Sumy region Olga Belenetskaya and activists of vulnerable groups, we want highlight the following:
1. Promotion of rehabilitation programs for drug addicts.
We plan to develop a map services, where you can pass from drug addiction rehabilitation for those who need it and for various reasons can not take OST. For this previously gathered information will be discussed at a meeting of the Sumy Regional Council communities (RCC) and a round table with representatives of civil society and authorities and then this card of services will be delivered to vulnerable groups.
2. The possibility of free legal assistance for Representatives of vulnerable to HIV groups.
The free of primary legal assistance (providing legal information, advice, clarification of legal issues, drafting applications, complaints and other legal documents) and secondary legal aid (representation in courts and other state bodies, local authorities, and drawing of a procedural nature documents) is regulated by the Law of Ukraine “On free legal aid”, which came into force on the 9th of July, 2011. Therefore, it’s planned to establish contacts with centers of free legal aid prepare handouts with phone numbers and addresses of these centers.
3. The need for active involvement and increase the number representatives of various vulnerable communities, especially sex workers and MSM in the Coordination Council for HIV/AIDS and the working groups of development policies (including the a transitional period plan for harm reduction programs for target groups).

Work on capacity building and capability of vulnerable communities implemented by NGO “Gay-alliance” in the direction “Social mobilization, strengthening of ties, cooperation and coordination” among vulnerable groups IDU/OST, sex workers, MSM, former prisoners in 5 regions of Ukraine (Lviv, Vinnytsa, Cherkasy, Kirovograd, Sumy), with the financial support of ACO “All-Ukrainian Network of PLWH” and ICF “International HIV/AIDS Alliance in Ukraine”.
