44 LGBTIQ+ people received support in shelters of the NGO “ALLIANCE.GLOBAL” in the first quarter of 2025
During January–March 2025, our shelters in Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Lviv provided support to 44 LGBTIQ+ people who found themselves in difficult life circumstances. We were able to provide temporary housing to 18 people in Kyiv, 11 in Dnipro, 9 in Lviv, and 6 in Kharkiv. The reasons for the appeals were different: war, loss of home, discrimination, violence, or other crises. In each of these cases, our team worked to return the person a sense of security, care, and hope.
We are developing a system of assistance that covers key areas of support:
- Safe temporary housing — a space where you can relax, recover, and start building a new life;
- Psychological support — individual consultations and group meetings with professional psychologists, during which you can share your experiences, receive support, and strengthen your mental health;
- Legal assistance – support in resolving issues with documents, protecting rights, contacting the police and other institutions;
- Social support – assistance in finding a job, studying, completing documents and moving to permanent housing, and all this on the principle of “equal to equal”;
- Material support – each person receives food and hygiene certificates, basic clothing and shoes.
We know that the LGBTIQ+ community in Ukraine faces dual challenges – war and social prejudice. That is why our shelters are more than a roof over your head. This is a space of care, acceptance and support, where you can find the strength to start over.
We sincerely thank every person who supports our work: partners, donors, volunteers and everyone who cares. Thanks to you, we can open the doors to those in need every day and help them take the first steps towards a new life.
