The Paralegal Hub of the PO “ALLIANCE.GLOBAL” Monitors Hate Speech Against LGBTIQ+ in the Media
Since March 2024, the Paralegal Hub has been regularly monitoring the media space to identify manifestations of hate speech against LGBTIQ+ communities, including men who have sex with men (MSM).
Why do we do this?
Hate speech in public discourse contributes to the spread of discrimination, stigmatization and violence against LGBTIQ+ communities. MSM remain a particularly vulnerable group, who often become targets of negative and generalized narratives in the media, social networks and blogosphere.
Our monitoring allows us to:
- Identify systemic problems in the coverage of topics related to LGBTIQ+.
- Analise the tone and context of mentions.
- Formulate recommendations for journalists, editorial offices and communication specialists.
We regularly publish analytical reviews with examples of violations, terminology analysis, and recommendations on how to talk about LGBTIQ+ correctly and without discriminatory language.

We strive to create an informative, ethical, and safe media space where human rights are above all else.
