During 11-14 February the staff and volunteers of the NGO “Gay-alliance” took an active participation in the International Condom Day in Kyiv. Our organization was one of the main partners of celebration which was organized by AHF-Ukraine.
The measures held at Mystetskyi Arsenal within the framework of the “Arsenal of Love”, where the special “Zone of Safe Love” by partnership of Elena Pinchuk Foundation “ANTIAIDS”, was held a series of information and entertainment events: lectures, counseling, a master class on putting on a condom, performances of music and dance teams, free photo session and make-up, watching movies and so on. All interested persons of the event could pass free rapid HIV testing. In a press briefing on the 13th of February took part a Head of External Communications and Advocacy Andrii Chernyshev.
On the occasion the celebration of International Condom Day in front of monument of Motherland was held a flash mob. Students, volunteers and representatives of non-governmental HIV service organizations have deployed a huge banner (20×20 meters) with the slogan “Protect your love”. In this way, Ukraine has joined the series of international actions combating the spread of HIV epidemic. The measures on the occasion of Condom Day are held on the 13th of February in 40 countries. Also within the campaign Kyiv citizens and guests have distributed 15,000 condoms ”LOVE Condom”.
