On Tuesday, 30th June, at the Lviv regional AIDS center, was held a round table, that devoted to problems that have arisen in civil activists and other interested parties on the implementation of the regional program on HIV/AIDS in Lviv region. The event was attended by representatives of Lviv regional state administration departments, heads of the regional AIDS center, heads of NGO’s, activists of vulnerable communities and other.
The main a stumbling block was the official refusal the Social Protection Department of the Lviv regional state administration from participation in the program, which, among other things, significant activity for providing services by basic vulnerable populations to HIV that are so lobbied activists of vulnerable communities and NGOs.
The Regional Coordinator of the NGO “Gay-alliance” in Lviv region Olena Romanets noted the need to adopt latest version of the program, which were taken into account proposals from Lviv regional council communities and provide measures for providing of OST by facilities of local budget.
As a result of lively debate, participants decided:
1. Adopt amendments to the draft program, taking with it all of items by which was responsible for the Department of Social Protection.
2. Start working on the completion of the regional program working group. Consider the possibility to provide the funding in the program of measures to OST as well as measures for the rehabilitation of drug addicts.
3. To hold a working meeting of all interested persons by working at the draft program on the 6th of July 2015, indoors of regional AIDS center.
