On Thursday, 27.08.2015, held a regular meeting of Sumy Regional Council communities (RСС), which was considered issue about the possibility receiving of free legal aid for Representatives of vulnerable to HIV groups:IDUs, sex workers, MSM, former prisoners.
Chairman of Coordination Council of Young Lawyers at the Department of Justice told the audience about the mechanism of providing free primary and secondary legal aid for vulnerable groups governed by Law of Ukraine “On free legal aid”.
After a lively discussion, participants decided:
– To develop a map to provide free legal aid and distribute among vulnerable communities;
– To sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between Sumy RRS ta.Coordination Council of Young Lawyers for further cooperation;
– Keep track what amount of customers will receive free legal aid services.

Regional Council of communities (RCC) – a consultative and advisory body, that includes leaders and activists of the most groups vulnerable to HIV, which aims to significantly strengthen the capacity of communities through joint advocacy actions, including to increase access to medical and social services to vulnerable communities in the region.
Work on capacity building and capability of vulnerable communities implemented by NGO “Gay-alliance” in the direction “Social mobilization, strengthening of ties, cooperation and coordination” among vulnerable groups IDU/OST, sex workers, MSM, former prisoners in 5 regions of Ukraine (Lviv, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Sumy), with the financial support of ACO “All-Ukrainian Network of PLWH” and ICF “International HIV/AIDS Alliance in Ukraine”.
