On the 11-12th of June 2015 was held an expert visits a staff member of the NGO “Gay-alliance” to Kirovograd.
It should be noted that the recently was approved by the Regional Council Regional program to HIV/AIDS in a region to which the were included measures that were developed the leaders of the main vulnerable groups (IDU/OST, sex workers, former prisoners and MSM).
To your attention – some of the results of this visit:
The Regional Coordinator of the “Gay-alliance” in Kirovograd region Victoria Lintsova will be raised questions to increase the estimated number of MSM to 900 (according to the latest bio-behavioral research conducted among MSM in 2013), at the next meeting of the Regional Coordination Council on HIV/AIDS and TB; after this will be carried out advocacy of questions introducing amendments to regional program for recalculation amounts of measures for MSM towards increase in the coming years (2016-2018).
Discussed and determined the procedure the implementation of social order for opening of registration points for homeless citizens of Ukraine among the most vulnerable groups for HIV.
In August 2015 planned to hold a round table on resolving issues of homelessness among IDU and people who came out of prison. With the participation of representatives of the Department of Social Protection and the City Council. The desired results of advocacy: provision of permit the city council for registration of homeless, the allocation of premises for the resocialization center.
At the next meeting of the Regional Coordinating Council will consider the issue of inclusion to composition of Council a representative of MSM (this is the only group of which has never been a representative in council).
The advocacy specialist of our organization together with our regional coordinator have developed an algorithm for public monitoring/auditing of public procurement in the area.
